BSE has a long experience in current conducting electrode arm design and
implementation with more than 60 references on all kinds of furnaces.
Now BSE is proud to introduce the next generation of current conducting electrode
arms made of aluminium with a flanged connection of the electrode holder. The
product properties and BSE’s vast experience in EAF design as well as
operational and process knowledge are the key to tailor-made solutions that
will boost your productivity – while at the same time minimising energy and
maintenance costs as well as power-off times.
Principles
- Current conducting
electrode arms for UHP furnaces(AC and DC) with unique material and design
features.
- Identical and
flanged electrode holders for each phase of an AC furnace.
- Utilisation of the
mechanical and electrical properties of a selected aluminium alloy to design a
light but sturdy and powerful electrode arm.
- Water-cooled, box-type design with welded internal reinforcements.
Features- BSE's type flanged electrode head construction with hydraulically operated spring suspension provides optimised handling and operation.
- No skin effect
through utilisation of the whole cross section of the arm with the advantages
of aluminium as a homogeneous, conductive, non-magnetic material.
- Properties of
selected aluminium alloy result in lower vibration levels and in an improved
dynamics when combined with modern digital electrode regulation systems.
- Typically with
super bolt connection for fast and reliable fixation of arms tot he stool, but
providing for a minimised installation time.
Advantages - Increase in
electrical power input of up to 15%, compared to conventional design.
- Minimised
electrical losses as a consequence of the use of aluminium and large copper
contact area.
- High availability
due to flanged design.
- Tailor-made design, construction and commissioning of the entire electrode arm system to guarantee stable and reliable operation.
- Easy repairs of
main arm body secure highest productivity levels.
- Drastically reduced
capital investment for spares, because no complete set required and identical
heads for all three phases.
