The system is an easy to handle tool for optimization of
important EAF system parameters.
Principles- Complex system, which allows a very efficient melting process
(long arcs, high currents).
- Based on two
regulating circuits for DC: inner loop for fast current regulation and outer
loop for arc voltage regulation.
- To guarantee a higher transparency of the DC furnace regulating system BSE developed the DC Furnace Online Monitoring system
Concept- The system displays online two adjustable
diagrams.
- The actual operating points are displayed and
stored.
- Different melting periods can be evaluated as well as complete heats.
- A
further offline evaluation of the diagrams is possible.
- The U/I-diagram displays the operating points of the
DC side.
- The P/Q-diagram displays the operating points of the AC side in
front of the transformer.
- The resulting point clouds visualize the dynamic operating
behaviour of the melting process.
- The form of the clouds related to the
characteristic diagrams directly allows to assess the regulating accuracy or
the efficiency of the operating profile and thus indicates the potentials for an optimization
of the system.
Advantages
- Follow-up of operating profile, active power input, power
on time, kWh/t, panel lifetime, roof lifetime.
- The
regulating reserve of the DC voltage can easily be evaluated and optimized .
- Setpoint deviations can easily be uncovered.
- The
distribution width of the point cloud directly shows the regulating accuracy.
- The
minimum firing angle can be seen easily in the P/Q diagram as well as the
efficiency of the operating points (cos Phi).
